Cost Of Making A Will - Our Prices

These are our prices for the basic range of services Westbury Wills provides. The prices are current as of January 2012.

Wills
Single Will £100.00 A simple family Will
2 Mirror Wills £150.00 Two simple family Wills, one Will for each of a couple living together.
Trusts
Property Life Interest Trust £100.00 Provision to protect the value of your property for your children or other beneficiaries. Severance of joint tenancy may also be required to give these provisions effect
Discretionary Trust £100.00 A discretionary trust may receive funds from the first of a married couple to die for the benefit of the surviving spouse and children as part of Estate planning.
Other Trusts Fee on request Will trusts may be set up for a variety of reasons. The actual fee will be determined by the nature and complexity of the specific trust proposed, and will be agreed with you prior to work being undertaken.
Other services
Severance of Joint Tenancy £70.00 Preparation of relevant documentation and registration of the change to ownership of property.
Codicil £80.00 Effects amendments to an existing will.
Will Storage £50.00 One payment for lifetime storage.
Advance Decision £70.00 Also known as "The Living Will", this document expresses your preferences as to the provision of, or refusal of, certain medical treatments in advance of a time when you may be too ill to do so.
Lasting Power of Attorney * £150.00 per power A legal document giving one or more person you trust power to deal with your affairs should it be convenient for you or should you become too ill to do so yourself.

* Power of Attorney:

An additional registration fee will be payable to the Office of the Public Guardian.

There are two separate forms of Power:

  1. A Property & Affairs Power gives your attorney authority to deal with your property and money.
  2. A Welfare Power gives your attorney power to make decisions regarding your personal welfare (eg. where you should live, what medical intervention may be appropriate for you) but only after you have lost the capacity to make such decisions for yourself.

Will Writing Costs – Our Packages

We are also able to offer our clients a range of packages which provide our clients with all documents required, whilst offering a discount on the individual price of each item. In addition, Westbury Wills will contact clients purchasing such packages every three years to review the provision made. There is no additional fee for this service, but additional fees would apply if new documentation were then required.
