At Westbury Wills we do our best to make the process of organising your affairs as straightforward as possible. Some people find the idea of making a will upsetting, but once you are aware of the pitfalls of not making a will, you will see it makes sense to act today. Our philosophy is that you should make your will - and get on with your life, knowing that because of your prompt action your loved ones will not face added distress after your death.

We can visit you by appointment and take your instructions at home, at work or wherever is most convenient for you - so you won’t have to take time off work or travel in to the City to see a lawyer. Alternatively you could provide the details required via email.

Our consultants provide advice on all aspects of your estate and have the expertise to deal with your requirements effectively and speedily.

Once you have given us your instructions we will, within four weeks, prepare and send your Will to you together with full instructions as to how the documents should be attested (signed). If you wish, you may return the original to us for safekeeping, and we will send you copies for your own records.

If you do not make a will, the results of your lifetime of hard work may be other than you would wish:

  • Married couples, this could mean your spouse might inherit only part of your estate.
  • Parents, your children may be taken into care and a court will decide who will bring them up
  • Unmarried couples - your partner may receive nothing at all from your estate
  • Separated couples - your spouse may still inherit part of your property and may have continuing rights in the rest
  • Everybody - items of personal sentiment or other value may only be bequeathed if you make a will.
